FedEx Supports the 2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge

JOHANNESBURG, November 6, 2018 — FedEx Express has confirmed its sponsorship of the 2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player, Nov. 8-11 at Sun City.  FedEx has been a sponsor of the event since 2006.

“FedEx Express is proud of our long-standing relationship with the Nedbank Golf Challenge, and we are excited to again sponsor the tournament that has become the greatest showcase of golf on the African continent,” said Mike Higley, vice president, Operations FedEx Express Southern Africa. 

The Nedbank Golf Challenge is one of the highlights of the South African sporting calendar. In its 37-year history, the event has hosted the biggest names in world golf.  This year 72 players will play over four days for a purse of 7.5 million USD.  The tournament forms part of the Rolex Series on the European Tour, and is the penultimate event on the Race to Dubai.

Rory McIlroy has confirmed his participation in this year’s event.  The former World Number One will tee up in Sun City, alongside 2017 Masters Champion Sergio Garcia, for the first time since 2009 after a strong start to the European Tour season[1].
