Mathidi brings important skill set to the Grobank boardroom

Grobank is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Bafana Patrick Mathidi as a non-executive director of the Bank following approval by the South African Reserve Bank.

A founding member and Head of Equity and multi asset strategies at Aluwani Capital Partners, Mr Mathidi qualified as an accountant and practised as an investment professional in the financial sector. Of his almost two decades in financial services, the last ten years saw him in asset management, responsible for pensions and various institutional clients’ investments.

‘I feel honoured and excited to be joining the Grobank team as it embarks on its bold and important growth path,” says Patrick. “I look forward to new learnings while contributing meaningfully through robust interactions with the rest of the board and executive team.”

Van Rooy adds that, given his background that includes a skill set specializing in understanding the broader macroeconomic dynamics of financial markets, business models and financial asset valuations, Mathidi’s experience will be invaluable to Grobank.

“The team welcomes Patrick’s to Grobank and look forward to leveraging of his extended knowledge of financial markets as well as the agricultural sector, that he obtained as a previous non-executive director of the Land Bank. We see his experience as an asset to our people-centric organisation.”

Grobank is a proud Partner of the NSBC.
