React24: changing lives for the better

In this #AbsaSmallBizFriday interview, we find out more about Celeste Margo Le Roux, her business journey and why she believes South Africa should support small business.

React24 was born and conceptualised around a kitchen table in Celeste Margo Le Roux and her husband’s home, with two artisans and one vehicle. As co-founders they identified a niche in the industry where they could render quality site services to clients 24/7 and provide a turnkey solution with all trades under one roof. Celeste says that she is fiercely passionate about seeing transformation within this sector, where women are well represented.

What do you love the most about running your business?

I would have to say the people. My team comprises dedicated, passionate individuals who take great pride in our brand. I love that no two days are ever the same. We work in a fast-paced environment, which keeps it exciting.

The college allows us to see people’s lives changed, where they acquire a skill (plumbing) that enables them to provide for their families and encourage them to become entrepreneurs themselves.

What is one of the biggest lessons you have learnt on your business journey?

Our most significant lessons learnt is what COVID has taught us. The first is to be agile enough to pivot your business to ensure sustainability. And secondly, to look for opportunities in adversity.

What is your Why? Why do you do what you do and what do you focus on to help you persevere and get through tough times?

Our WHY is simple: to change someone’s life for the better. It is most rewarding to see students at the college learning a trade, knowing that they can earn a fair wage once they receive their formal qualifications.
Also, to be a voice for women in construction and bring about much-needed transformation is what keeps me up at night.

Why should South Africa support small businesses now and beyond?

Small businesses are the lifeline of the South African economy. They create employment, especially among the marginalised. Small businesses are often customers of large businesses and are essential in the economic ecosystem. Now, more than ever, primarily because of the COVID pandemic, small businesses are at risk and the most vulnerable, needing support.

React24 was the Winner of a Top 20 Award and Celeste Margo Le Roux was also the recipient of the 2021 Woman in Business Award at the South African Small Business Awards.

React24 is a proud Member of the NSBC.
