Every business wants to have more sales because more sales means more profits. But how do you improve your sales funnel conversions?
Before we start with how to improve our sales funnel we need to know:
What is a sales funnel?
A sales funnel is the pathway which your prospect takes from the awareness of your product or business to purchasing your product or service. There are five areas to the sales funnel:
- Awareness: This is where you attract your potential customers to your business. You can do this through blogging, social media and pay per click (PPC) campaigns.
- Interest: Your prospect will visit your webpage and if they interested in your offering they may sign-up to your newsletter. This is where you will engage with the crowd who have developed around your product.
- Desire: The prospect wants to acquire your product but they still need a bit of nudge that the product you supply is what they want. You will educate your prospective client about the benefits of the product or service your offer.
- Conversion: Here your leads are turned into paying customers. This is where you have nurtured your lead and they have successfully made a purchase from you.
- Re-engage: The next step is for your client to remain and become a brand advocate for you. They will also be able to recommend your product to their acquaintances which will bring some more qualified leads into your sales funnel.
Now that we are aware of what a sales funnel is, how can we improve the sales funnel conversions?
Know your client
It is important to have a clear distinction of who your client is. Where do they hang out in the digital world and what content do they want to consume? You may also want to consider how they would purchase your product. By having a concise and clear understanding of your client you can create and target hot leads which will convert easier.
Be active on social media
Some business may not consider social media important but this is where the conversations about your brand are happening and you need to be part of it. By being active on social media platforms that are important to your industry you will be able to build trust with your consumers. Customers expect you to be available on Twitter to answer questions, and they want to see how-to videos on YouTube or Pinterest, and they like to see the behind-the-scenes activities of your business through Instagram.
Blog about your business
Having a blog helps to grow your reputation as a thought leader in your field. If you have a blog which people are sharing and referencing in their business you will have more clout when it comes to converting your visitors to leads. People will visit your website and when they are ready to purchase you will be high on the list of businesses they will potentially buy from.
Create e-books
When asking for your website visitor’s contact information, you need to give them something of value in exchange. The better the offering the more willing the visitors to your site will be to leave their contact details. This can be done with an e-book which was created from some of your best content on your site. This will also give you leads and show what potential problems your consumers have and you can address how to solve these through further email marketing.
Personalize your newsletter
Ensure that your newsletter speaks directly to your consumer. If your customer has been browsing specific products online, you can send an email newsletter with related products. If they have put them in a shopping cart but have left it. You can send a reminder email of their purchase and offer a discount if they make a purchase on that day.
By implementing these elements into your sales funnel you will be well on your way to making more sales.
