Meet the Absa Small Business Friday featured Small Business of the week – Enslins Bloemfontein.
Enslins Bloemfontein is a whole ecosystem of integrating services that feed off each other and are aligned to ensure there is no gap in the financial requirements of their clients. Marinus Hoek has created a business over time which offers a bundle of services for a person’s financial needs. This has been his vision from the start. Each division is headed up by someone who is experienced in their field.
After spending a couple of years in big corporate companies, Marinus got an opportunity to join Enslins Bloemfontein in July 2017. In October 2017, Marinus became the director of the company with no income nor client base. As deep as the waters were where he found himself, he knew this was a blessing. He had to learn everything from scratch. He needed to learn how to manage clients, employees, marketing, finances, systems, and programmes. But this was an opportunity to build the foundation right from the start and an entrepreneur is someone who sees the gap or opportunity, understands it completely, and masters the opportunity. Starting from scratch has made Marinus successful in his entrepreneurial journey.

From humble beginnings the group has grown to include 5 directors – Marinus Hoek, Crous Wagener, Dirk Kemp, Kerneels Smit and Werner Coetsee who all share the same vision and goals for the group. Our clients are serviced by a very strong team of employees and we aim to add continuous value.

Enslins Bloem is part of Agriculture Dot Golf, an NPO. Their only goal is to raise as many funds as possible for rural farm safety. Many of Enslins Bloemfontein’s clients are farmers so giving back to them is important. The funds go towards the training of farmers and specifically farm workers to ensure the farming community as a whole is protected.
In the future, the Enslins Bloemfontein hopes to be standing stronger. They have good momentum and believe that their relationships with their clients should be treasured. As they grow, they must remember to stick to the basics of good business (good client service and quality work) and hopefully they will continue to grow year after year.
Enslins Bloemfontein Group was chosen to receive a Top 20 Award at the 2022 South African Small Business Awards.
