COVID-19 is entrenching new ways of living and working, and through this period of adaptation in a global health crisis, it has become apparent that many things are beyond our control. Having a handle on your finances is one way of ensuring that you feel empowered through this difficult and challenging time.
The Mind My Money programme enables you to develop your financial understanding and confidence to help you make sound financial decisions.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme is now provided through a series of webinars digitally, offered at no charge. The programme covers a range of topics, from basic tips on how to budget, to understanding how to protect your family’s future. The programme is therefore integral in reinforcing the importance of financial education, illustrating how to best deal with and cope with declining monthly salaries, revising budgets, understanding debt, and learning how to continue saving towards future goals, particularly during this period.
The Mind My Money toolkit provides information, tailored for the challenges that many individuals are currently facing, to help them ensure a financially stable and secure future for themselves and their families.
The programme enables our customers to better answer the following questions:
- How could I change and adapt my budget to deal with a loss or reduction in my income?
- How do I manage my debt if I lose my job, business or take a salary cut?
- What support is available to me if I am retrenched?
- What insurance cover do I have in place and what can I claim during the pandemic?
- How can I protect my family’s future during the COVID-19 pandemic?
The programme takes about 45 minutes to complete, and can be done from a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Fundamentally, the Mind My Money programme is about providing people with the tools to improve their financial understanding, and to equip them to make more sophisticated and sound financial decisions. By providing this support, Liberty aims to ensure that financial freedom is accessible to all. The programme is available to all South Africans at no charge.
