With all the new platforms and places to be on the internet, it would seem easy for your customers to find you. But they are not. There are many reasons why they still can’t find you, but we will look at six ways to help you optimise your multi-channel organic search.
1. Define your brand
Before we look at where and how to improve your organic search, we need to focus on ensuring that your brand has a clear identity. Create a brand style guide which shows the colours that can be used with your brand and how your logo should be used in different spaces. By having a clear handbook on your brand, you can ensure that whoever works on marketing or promoting your brand will do it with one voice.
2. Choose the channels
By having a clear idea of who your target audience is, you can choose the channels which are popular with them. The different channels are websites, social media platforms, email and other search engines. Find out which are the top three for your audience and work with those.
3. Optimise your content
The first piece of content to focus on is your company name and details. Ensure they are written in the same way throughout your website and that your contact details are correct. You should also check your contact details on your social media pages and in other places where they appear. Next, use keywords which are popular with your customers when they search for your product. You can also use long-tail keywords which will be more likely to get a hit. Another note on content is that it must add value to your customer. Ensure you add value.
4. Streamline your website
You can have the best content but if your website is not streamlined then you will struggle to move up the Google search list. Ensure your site is mobile-friendly, has a fast load rate, and that it is easy to navigate. By making your website easy to use, you will make it easy for search engines to crawl and store the information on your site.
5. Understand your resources
Your customers may be on all the channels, but you shouldn’t be. If you are a solopreneur, you won’t have the time to manage many different channels. Make sure you choose the channels which will give you the best return on investment. You can start with one channel and finetune that before you move on to other channels.
6. Test and repeat
It is important to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that you will measure to see if your efforts are a success or not. This will ensure that your resources are used adequately and not used in areas which aren’t successful.
By following these six methods you will be able to up your multi-channel organic search optimisation and move a few places up in your Google ranking.
