Did you know that over 50% of businesses fail within their first 2 years? That’s why getlion was created.
As an all-in-one business app, getlion allows entrepreneurs to start, manage and grow a business through access to an entire business ecosystem – closing the gap between success and failure. Through the app, business owners can access leading learning content, tools and services from 35 industry-leading partners at discounted rates, the first rewards program created for entrepreneurs and two exciting features launching in April 2021. These are the getlion Funding Portal and getlion Marketplace, which will enable entrepreneurs to not only apply for funding for their businesses, but to grow their customer bases by selling through their own online stores.
Co-founder of getlion, Mathew Marsden says, “South Africa’s entrepreneurs are amongst the most capable in the world and it’s our mission to see them build successful companies that last. We’re achieving this this by removing the complexity involved in growing a business and through intuitive solutions that solve entrepreneurs’ most pressing problems – like access to funding and new customers – all through one, easy-to-use platform. More entrepreneurs leads to more jobs, and a thriving local economy.”
Creating Opportunities Through #GetSAworking Initiative
In June 2020, ProfitShare Partners, getlion and radio station Hot 91.9FM launched an exciting year-long initiative designed to get small businesses working and creating jobs. In the #GetSAworking campaign, R100 million in capital was invested to support SMEs to deliver on their contracts throughout the year. getlion has made the process of applying for funding that much easier from within the app.
In the final month of the #GetSAWorking initiative, ProfitShare Partners will award a R1 million cash prize to the small business that has created the most net jobs in the campaign period. Entries close on 30 April 2021. Full details are available on the Get SA Working website.
