If you are not getting ahead, you need to change your mindset. The right mindset is success. In your mind are the beliefs and tools you use to get what you want.
Success is attainable and achievable for anyone who has the mindset to receive it. Many subconsciously believe that they are undeserving of success. These people who believe that they are undeserving of success feel that success is accidental or comes by luck.
Let’s take a look:
- The root of success comes from courage, self-confidence and trust.
If you can’t trust yourself and believe in yourself, then you can’t achieve anything. Do you believe you are capable of going the distance and landing up where you want to be? The level of your confidence determines your productivity. - Embrace failure.
Few have what it takes to embrace setbacks and obstacles, but those who do will find opportunity and reward en route. Be persistent even when it looks too hard and bounce back after every obstacle. Failures are lessons to improving yourself.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. – Winston Churchill.
- Love what you do.
The only way to do great work is to love what you do and follow your heart and passions. If you don’t love what you do … change NOW! As the saying goes: If you love what you do, you will never have to work another day in your life. - Change the mindset and adopt the ‘Happiness Factor’.
Before we set out to conquer the world, we need to conquer ourselves first. Take responsibility for everything. Forgive others. Be grateful – count your blessings. Recognise that problems are temporary. Accept all things thrown at you. Be true, positive, and help others. Follow your heart. Live in the NOW – yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Be decisive and always do what’s right. Don’t focus on the money – the money comes as a result of what you do well. Be good to yourself. Think and behave like a winner all the time. Focus on your goals all day every day – if a goal doesn’t excite you and make you a little nervous you need to think bigger.
If you think big then it’s going to be big. – Emeril Lagass
- Map your journey.
Every journey needs a destination. The same principle applies to life. Having direction is key to getting ahead. When you have a vision for the future then it will be easier to achieve success in life. If you don’t know where you going, how can you expect to get there - Do GREAT work.
This involves four things: 1) Focus on three things a day that matter most. 2) Learn to say ‘NO’, so that when you say yes, it’s real. 3) Get rid of what’s not working and change direction. 4) Don’t take ‘NO’ for an answer. - Make things happen.
Don’t wait for things to happen. Successful people are proactive – they do not wait for someone to hand them something. Successful people have the wisdom to create their own opportunities instead of waiting for them to come their way. - Don’t procrastinate.
Procrastination is also not only the thief of time but it is the thief of opportunity and it can delay your life purpose, thereby thwarting your success. - Soar with the eagles that fly high.
Get rid of toxic elements in your life and surround yourself with positive, get-ahead people.
Now rise to the occasion and your rightful place in society.
